Miriam Budzáková (SK)
Miriam is an author of the younger generation on the scene of contemporary art and contemporary dance in Slovakia. She graduated from VŠMU in the field of Dance Theater and Performance and 4 years of study at SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance). In her work, she moves in the field of contemporary dance and performance, but also in other interdisciplinary art forms. She investigates and is interested in experiencing the body in uncomfortable, intimate, personal, social and public spheres and creates performative situations as a collective audience experience. In most cases, she is passionate about working with improvisation and non-traditional dance approaches, in which she looks for new, old, original and non-original stimuli for creation. Her works were presented at several festivals in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Italy and Austria.
Miriam collaborated on several projects with the interdisciplinary association of artists INSTITUT INSTITUT as a co-creator and performer. She is also part of the performative collective ArTemporis, based in Vienna. Since 2017, she has been co-organizing the multi-genre dance festival “Tanečno” in Orava.
